The Arab Open University with its Headquarters in the State of Kuwait is currently seeking applications for the following positions:

·        Vice Rector for Financial and Administrative Affairs

The Arab Open University (AOU) is a non- profit Higher Education institution offering leadership in open learning in the Arab World. The AOU is committed to increasing educational opportunity across the region which it serves and teaches through six Branches located in Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon.

The AOU provides its students with educational materials designed and written for self study and supports them through a variety of means including face to face teaching and e-learning. Currently the AOU offers three undergraduate programs of study taught in English, namely:

·        B.A. in English Language & Literature;

·        B.A. in Information Technology & Computing (including computer science); and

·        B.A. in Business Administration.

These programs, adapted for the local environment, are licensed from the UK Open University which also accredits the AOU and validates the three honours degree programs identified above.

In addition to the above programs, the University offers three others taught in Arabic in the discipline of Education including a BA in Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education.

Applicants for the three Vice Rector posts should possess strong academic qualifications, a sound research record and have significant experience of managing at a senior level in a university or equivalent institution. Experience of using electronic media to support teaching and learning would also be highly valued by the university, particularly for the first two posts. Applicants must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communications skills to enable them to work effectively as leaders in their areas of responsibility.

Candidates must be fluent in both Arabic and English.

Preference will be given to applicants whose qualifications meet those required for appointment as a full professor at the Arab Open University.
